Every two years, the World Monuments Watch calls international attention to unique places around the world that are at risk from the forces of nature or from the impact of social, political, and economic change. Your knowledge and expertise can help identify more heritage places facing pressing challenges or new opportunities for positive change. Nominations for the 2018 World Monuments Watch are being accepted until 1 March 2017.
Heritage sites of all types and from any cultural period—ancient to modern—are eligible for inclusion – and anyone can nominate. In the past UK sites have ranged from Grimsby’s Ice Factory, Newstead Abbey and Coventry Cathedral, through to Battersea Power Station, Dudley Zoo and Strawberry Hill.
Successful nominations benefit from increased profile, opportunities for community engagement and support, both financially and in terms of professional guidance.
