As General Manager of the Surrey Hills portfolio, you’ll be managing the most complex portfolio in the London and Surrey region. You’ll need to be an inspiring leader who can engage with a wide variety of people in order to achieve your portfolio goals.

About the role:

People are at the heart of this role. Working with your diverse team to develop three key areas in the portfolio: commercial development, let estate management, countryside management.

As the General Manager you’ll need to be able to articulate your vision to your team, volunteers, stakeholders and partner organisations. Your ability to relate to people with great ease and to manage the delivery of your vision will be the most crucial part of your role. You’ll be a senior leader within the region, and will need to have strong experience in managing teams over multiple sites effectively. As a leader of change, you’ll take the whole team in the right direction with our strategic aims.

About you:

You’ll need to be credible in your leadership role, and demonstrate working in a similarly complex and diverse organisation. You’ll also need to bring the following:

  • Leadership of diverse and multi-site, multi-disciplined teams
  • Stakeholder management and ability to network for the Trust
  • Strong affinity to the Trust’s ethos, especially the outdoors
  • Ability to motivate and inspire your team to want to achieve our ambition of a healthy, beautiful natural environment
