Highland Museums Forum: Business Consultant/s

Editor News

The Highland Museums Forum (HMF) is looking to recruit a Business Consultant/s to undertake an audit of individual independent museums and develop a strategic plan for future economic sustainability.

The contract will be delivered in 2 phases between May 2017 and October 2018. In Phase 1, May – October 2017, it is envisaged that the audit will be conducted, resulting in a strategic plan for each museum. As a range of skills and specialist knowledge is required, it is expected that the successful contractor will source external expertise to fulfil the remit of the brief.

In Phase 2, November 2017 – October 2018, the consultant will be available to provide mentor support to the individual museums as they implement the recommendations and actions from Phase 1. A strategic plan for the museums as a collective and a fundraising strategy will be developed. The consultant will also be required to provide advice to the HMF in creating a new constitution.

It is expected that the contractor/s will visit each of the museums based across the Highlands of Scotland in Phase 1 of the project.
The contractor will also be expected to liaise with the other project consultants – Project Co-ordinator, Fundraiser and Development Co-ordinator.

The project is funded by Museums Galleries Scotland and HLF.
