HOURS:  35 Hours per week
CONTRACT:   Full Time, Permanent

The Church of England in London is growing, vibrant and at the heart of communities throughout the capital. At the London Diocesan Fund we seek to do everything we can to support this mission and growth, using our resources to help our parishes and chaplains to serve over 4 million people.

We are now looking to appoint a Church Buildings Adviser to provide professional guidance for the care of churches and churchyards and administrative support to the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC). The Church Buildings Adviser will at the core of their responsibility give practical building advice to parishes for the care of their church property. In addition they will support the function of the DAC processes, its business in a professional and timely manner, ensuring it complies with all statutory requirements. Part of the function of the role is to maintain the records of the Committee, archiving of project casework reviewed as well as the notifications of advice.

A working knowledge of conservation practices and listed building legislation is essential, as well as a relevant professional qualification (MA Conservation, Architecture or Cultural History). An understanding of the faculty process and the Ecclesiastical Exemption is desirable.
