The Worcestershire Building Preservation Trust (WBPT) has restored the only remaining physical reminder of the bombazine weaving part of Kidderminster’s history, and they are now for sale as homes.

The cottages at 20-22 Horsefair are listed as “three houses with attic workshops dating from the mid and late 18th century with later alterations”, adding that “these buildings, which combine domestic and workshop functions are rare survivals from the period associated with the domestic worsted weaving industry in Kidderminster”.

The specialist building contractors, Croft Building and Conservation Ltd carried out the repairs to the cottages to exceptional standards incorporating high quality fitments, stunning bright interiors and well preserved original features.

The WBPT are now offering the cottages for sale by public auction, subject to prior sale, special conditions and reserve.

Auction to be held at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel, Stone, Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10 4PJ on Tuesday 12 September 2017 at 6pm.

This is being handled by the Stourport-on-Severn Office of Phipps & Pritchard with McCartneys, 1 High Street, Stourport, DY13 8DJ Tel: 01299 822060 or email: stourport@phippsandpritchard.co.uk.
