Work has stated on vital repairs to the world’s first iron bridge, as English Heritage [Alliance member] revealed a €1m donation from German Hermann Reemtsma Foundation towards the £3.6m conservation project and launched a crowd-funding campaign to help save one of the wonders of the modern world.
