The Government has published its plan for raising the quality of careers provision in England. A new, website for the National Careers Service will be developed in 2018. Changes to the website will be made public in April and then further developments made for October 2018. Labour market information is used to inform the over 800 job profiles which are available on the website. These have been developed with industry experts and give young people and adults a clear picture of what a job involves and the salary, qualifications and experience they need to enter and progress in their chosen careers. Other changes recommended include that Secondary schools should offer every young person at least seven encounters with employers during their education, with at least one encounter taking place each year from years 7-13.
