Three-quarters of the members of the US National Park System Advisory Board has quit. They were frustrated that the US Interior Secretary refused to meet with them or convene a single meeting of the board in 2017 which is legally mandated to meet twice a year. Their mass resignation leaves the federal government without a functioning body to designate national historic or natural landmarks.
