Together the National Park Authorities are signatories to a Joint Statement on the Historic Environment in National Parks. The agencies with responsibility for heritage and the historic environment in England, Wales and Scotland have also signed up to this statement which guides joint work on conservation and interpretation of the historic environment.

As part of this joint working and commitment, Historic Environment staff from across the UK National Parks have created a leaflet to celebrate our unique landscapes shaped by people, and the work of the National Park Authorities in looking after them.  The  Our Historic Environment: Special Places Shaped by People leaflet was launched on 24th May, the European Day of Parks during the European Year of Cultural Heritage.
