Draft revised National Planning Policy Framework consultation – Heritage Alliance response

Editor News

The consultation, which closed on the 10th May, strongly encouraged the use of an online survey. We have collated the Alliance’s response online here.

Key concerns included changes to the presumption in favour of sustainable development such as changing the footnote which provides reasons to restrict development from a list of examples of policies to an exhaustive list, exception sites for entry level homes and building up. The Heritage Alliance will be part of a meeting with MHCLG before the revised NPPF is published to ensure these concerns are worked through in detail.

Note that a further consultation is expected on a new permitted development right for upward extensions and more effective ways to bring agricultural land forward for housing.
