About us

Based at the historic Kew Bridge Waterworks, the Museum tells the story of London’s water supply, the site, its people and the water pumping engines that helped make London the city it is today.

The role:

The Museum is looking for an inspirational leader to be our new Director.

As a full board member of the Kew Bridge Engines Trust, which runs the Museum, the Director is the organisation’s most senior executive, responsible and accountable for all CEO functions, and our strategic and creative direction.

The Director reports directly to the Chair of Trustees and will work closely with the board and lead the executive team to ensure the effective governance and management of all aspects of the organisation.

What we’re looking for:

The new Director will be pivotal to the Museum’s future success.

He or she will need the vision, skills and experience to lead us successfully through the next phase of our growth and development, deliver our objectives and achieve long-term sustainability.

This is a major opportunity for the right candidate to lead and nurture an organisation with a fascinating history and growing confidence and capabilities. The part-time basis on which the post is offered would suit appropriately qualified candidates seeking a stimulating and well-rewarded role which does not dominate their lives.

Salary:

£60,000 per annum, pro-rated for three days/21 hours a week.
