£35,000 per annum, full time, over 2 years. Based in Twickenham TW1 but limited home working may be available.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the Environment Trust’s heritage projects and join an organisation looking to the future. You will be identifying and developing a range of projects such as a folly, lake and other structures in a listed historic landscape, a Huguenot Burial Ground and a listed Boathouse in urban settings. You will be key in raising awareness of the Trust and developing local knowledge and networks. Uniquely, you will be working with our Nature Conservation Manager bringing buildings and landscape together.

Our aim is to inspire a love of local places and enhance people’s lives through raising awareness of built heritage and encouraging involvement, inclusion, volunteering and learning. The Environment Trust has a track record of preserving buildings and landscape.

In this exciting role we are seeking an enthusiastic champion for heritage who is an experienced and inventive project manager with a relevant degree or equivalent in a heritage/building conservation discipline. The post holder will:

identify built heritage for conservation and re-purposing initiating, developing agreed projects, seeking funding and managing the projects through their various stages.
extend the Trust’s influence, presence and activities to secure the future of built heritage including assets on Historic England’s Heritage At Risk register and structures of local community value across its geographical area
advise on heritage projects, provide guidance to community groups, private owners, local authorities, and other relevant organisations.
develop our strategy and sustainable funding for conserving the built environment beyond the initial 2 year grant aid period.
