Following the Honor Foundation Trust Policy Forum, Fjordr Limited has published a report detailing the historical and archaeological interest in shipwrecks alongside nine other sectors in the UK, such as Commemoration, Fishing, and Nature Conservation, to facilitate dialogue, integration and better protection of the archaeological value of shipwrecks wherever they are found.
The report makes seven recommendations, including implementing a clear policy on shipwrecks that applies across all ten sectors, avoiding or minimising activities that disturb wrecks, engaging the wider public in stories of wrecks and conducting better research to understand wreck’s value.
