This fortnight, numerous bodies published their annual reports and accounts for the past year.

DCMS’s annual report and accounts can be viewed here. The report includes a commitment to ‘implement the actions set out in the ‘Heritage Statement 2017’ to maximise the benefits and impact of England’s heritage and historic environment’. The report also summarises the work DCMS have done to support the heritage sector, as well as museums and galleries, and includes a summary of the Mendoza Review. The report notes that the proportion of adults who visited a heritage site rose again last year to 74.2%.

The Big Lottery Fund have also published their annual report for 2017-18, which details the fund’s strategic framework, finances, and achievements for the past year. The report explained that the Fund has been forced to reduce the amount of money committed to future projects from £655m, paid out this year, to £520m, after seeing a consistently lower income over the past few years. Historic England’s Annual Report and Accounts, including Performance and Accountability reports, which document their progress in fulfilling their corporate aims, have also been published. The report can be accessed here.
