Historic England has published the first-ever catalogue of the 82 known survey and design plans by Capability Brown and his office. The 110-page catalogue is free to download from the Historic England research reports database.
It is hoped that the catalogue will spur on other discoveries of Brown plans. There are clues suggesting there might be other plans which survive. There will be others that relate to Brown’s work but may not be recognised as relevant. The catalogue could be systematically expanded to include these if resources allowed.
