Heritage Minister Michael Ellis has announced a project to preserve unique archaeological sites in Iraqi Kurdistan dating back up to 10,000 years. It is to receive investment from the British Council’s £30 million Cultural Protection Fund, an initiative funded by the British Government which aims to protect culture and heritage across North African and Middle Eastern conflict-afflicted countries
