National Federation of Builders joins the Heritage Alliance

We are delighted to welcome The National Federation of Builders (NFB) as the newest members of the Heritage Alliance. The NFB represents small to medium-sized builders, contractors and house builders across England and Wales. As one of the UK’s longest standing trade bodies, it was created to represent the building profession and to promote conditions its members need to thrive and contribute to the economic success of the UK.
The NFB Heritage Group is a specialist group consisting of NFB members involved in construction of, or with an interest in, the heritage built environment. In the UK, the construction industry employs around 2 million people. The built heritage sector is a subset of the main construction industry, but faces similar challenges around skills shortages and poor external image. In response to these challenges, the group works with members and industry stakeholders to ensure that the skills, expertise and competences are in place to support a robust built heritage sector going forward.
It is now working hard to explore opportunities to develop collaborative programmes and initiatives which can help overcome some of the challenges its members currently face which is why the NFB is delighted to join the Heritage Alliance to support in this mission.
