The AHI is looking for a new Treasurer – Are you interested in becoming an AHI Trustee?  AHI is looking to co-opt a new trustee to join the committee and take on the duties of Treasurer.

AHI’s mission is to enrich lives through great heritage interpretation- supporting practitioners, promoting excellence and raising the profile of interpretation in the UK and Ireland.

AHI is looking for a treasurer to help once we have become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, moving from its current status as Unincorporated Charity. This change will happen from 1 April 2019.

The treasurer is part of the operations group, which also consists of the Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary and will assist the committee by supporting our administrator in overseeing our accounts, with the assistance of AHI’s Accountants.

Specifically, the treasurer will take the lead at board level on:

• making sure the CIO keeps proper accounts
• reviewing the CIO’s financial performance
• reviewing policies for finance and investment
• ensuring that the CIO has robust and effective financial controls in place
• liaising with finance staff and with the charity’s independent examiner or auditor
• reporting on financial matters to AHI members

Trustees are appointed / elected for three years, but we are interested in hearing from those who might wish to become our treasurer for a shorter period too.
