ACEVO’s latest annual survey has revealed that charity chief executives are most concerned about diversity on their boards, sector regulation and workload.
Key findings include:
- Only 26% of chief executives are satisfied with the ethnic diversity of their boards;
- Only 32% have concrete plans to address ethinic diversity issues;
- Only 34% have strategies in place to recruit more candidates with disabilities;
- The gender pay gap for chief executives is, on average, 13.8%.
- Only 17% of respondents believe that charity sector regulation is “very effective”
- Chief executives work on average 10 hours extra a week over and above their contracted hours, amounting to roughly 3 months a year, unpaid.
