The Decision Maker Panel was established in August 2016, created by the Bank of England in partnership with Professor Nicholas Bloom of Stanford University and Professor Paul Mizen of the University of Nottingham. Made up of senior executives from different industries across the UK, data from the panel is collected from a short monthly survey on several topics.

In June 2019, the results from the 2019 Q2 Panel survey were released focusing on Brexit-related uncertainty and its determinants. In the February 2019 survey, 31% of respondents believed that Brexit related uncertainty to be resolved by the end of the year. In the June survey, this proportion had fallen to around 13%.

Conversely, the proportion of respondents who expect Brexit-related uncertainty to be resolved during 2020 had increased to 48% while the proportion of firms who expected Brexit-uncertainty to be resolved after 2021 has been more stable at around 20%. Overall the results suggest that business do not expect a material reduction in Brexit uncertainty over the coming months.
