Kickstarting the Grimsby Regeneration Project

Editor News

Having awarded an extra £3.75 million to kickstart the regeneration plans, the Government has announced the next phase of the Grimsby Town Deal which was launched in July 2018. This investment was a joint effort by the Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government and Jake Berry MP, and will support the development of the strategic Garth Lane site. This latest contribution brings the total investment brought through the Town Deal to £88 million.

With plans for the town center, including a new Youth Zone, the Town Deal is a significant part of the Government’s Industrial Strategy, which aims to boost productivity across the UK. The Deal places skilled jobs and education at the core of its strategy. The following stage of the Town Deal will look at a program to drive up educational attainment and enhance adult skills.
