NCVO Requests that Charities are Not Overlooked in Preparation for a No-Deal Brexit

Sir Stuart Etherington, chief executive of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations has called for funding for charities to help prepare for a no-deal Brexit. In his letter to the new minister for civil society Baroness Barran, he urged her not to forget about charities in the distribution of funding.

He further asked for a ‘Resilient Communities Fund’ to be created to support local charities. Etherington projected that charities would play a large role in providing an immediate response to communities in the event of a no-deal Brexit, and that they need the resources to be able to offer their expertise.
