£250,000 of funding will be awarded to venues across the UK to improve their broadband connectivity to help them attract more events. The event venues applying will have to have conference facilities that bid for events which attract international delegates.
The average value per project will be approximately £30,000. The winners of the competition will be able to upgrade their existing connectivity to full fibre broadband allowing faster data speeds and higher usage volumes. This digital infrastructure is needed to create opportunities for businesses.
