Adapting to climate change: Second National Adaption Programme

Editor News

The Government has published its Second National Adaption Programme, 2018-23, which sets out the risks posed by climate change, as well as its strategy for dealing with these challenges.

The report acknowledges that heritage assets will be negatively affected by climate change, whether by floods, coastal erosion, extreme weather, or changes in the sea’s temperature and acidification. The paper states that it will invite heritage organisations, such as the National Trust, English Heritage, and Historic England to report back on adapting to the effects of climate change and promises to map the heritage at risk from cultural erosion.
