Due to the retirement of MOLA’s current Chair, the organisation is searching for a dynamic individual who will lead the MOLA Board of Trustees in the oversight of the delivery of their ambitious new Strategic Plan, to increase MOLA’s financial performance and geographical expansion and ensure it achieves its purpose in creating and sharing archaeological knowledge for the benefit of people and society.

As Chair you will provide inspirational leadership whilst holding MOLA and the Executive Team to account, challenging MOLA to grow and improve whilst supporting it to be the best it can.

MOLA is looking for an individual with the following key experience, attributes and skills:

  • Considerable experience at a senior position in at least one of the following: construction sector (major infrastructure), academic archaeology, public or audience engagement, philanthropic fundraising, business strategy
  • Significant experience in strategy coupled with exceptional administrative skills, business planning and financial management
  • Prior experience of Board/Senior Leadership – resulting in effective and efficient board meetings that deliver measurable outcomes
  • Ability to lead, motivate and empower others, willing to seek and hear diverse views
  • Be in a position to devote the necessary time and effort to the role

The post is not remunerated but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
