Historic England has published a draft Advice Note on minerals extraction and archaeology for consultation. The advice note provides suggestions on managing archaeology as part of mineral development in the English planning process. The document will update and replace The Minerals and Historic Environment Forum (MHEF) “Minerals Extraction and Archaeology: A Practice Guide’”, published in 2008.
The consultation is open until 12 April.
