This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the development of archaeology across the UK. The Council for British Archaeology (CBA) [Alliance Member] is seeking to appoint a new Executive Director from April 2020 to succeed Dr Mike Heyworth MBE, who at the conclusion of the Council’s 75th anniversary year, is stepping down from the role.

The Executive Director will be responsible for the strategic operations of the CBA, acting as the Council’s chief executive and reporting to the Chair of trustees. Based at the CBA’s office in York, this is a full-time post with an annual salary of £50,000 and additional benefits. Flexible working options will be considered.
