DCMS has published their annual Community Life Survey.
The survey found that 22% of those who took part volunteered formally at least once a month, while 75% had given to charity in the 4 weeks before completing the survey.
The report includes a chapter on Volunteering and Charitable Giving, which details volunteering demographics, reasons for volunteering and barriers to donating time.
DCMS has also produced a factsheet specifically on Loneliness, an area where the Heritage Sector has much to contribute. Crucially, this showed that 6% (more than 1 in 20) adults over 16 often or always felt lonely. The Heritage Alliance recently responded to a DCMS consultation on tackling Loneliness.
