Role summary:  Write case studies on National Trust projects relating to adaptive reuse of rural buildings to identify what has worked, what hasn’t and why. Help ensure that the learning points from these case studies are shared throughout the organisation.

The condition of some of the historic rural buildings owned by the National Trust has become a cause for concern. An increasing number of buildings are falling out of use and consequently they become a low priority for investment and repair. Giving them back a viable use which contributes to the financial sustainability of the Trust estates is the best way to ensure these buildings continue to play a prominent part in the rich fabric of our much loved rural landscapes.

What’s involved?

• Researching, collating and writing user-friendly case studies following an agreed template.
• Contacting people within the National Trust to gather project information.
• Conducting property visits to gather project information, if necessary.
