Fighting back against Heritage Crime

Editor News

The Churches Conservation Trust is fighting against an epidemic of heritage crime that has afflicted many churches, including those of the Trust.

Metal theft is having a terrible impact at a number of our most cherished sites, with damage to roofs inevitably leading to interior issues resulting from water ingress, which can cause damage to artwork and objects.

Precious objects including stained glass and wooden panels have also been stolen from churches across the country, the recovery of which, if at all possible, can come at a high cost.

The CCT are therefore calling on the public for donations to help support their fight against heritage crime.
