Heritage Alliance responds to Ivory Consultation

The Heritage Alliance responded to the consultation and met with Minister Therese Coffey to raise members’ concerns.  We welcomed the Government’s desire to address the illicit ivory trade and the statement that the ban is not intended to affect the display of ivory and ivory products in, for example, museums, galleries, stately homes or other similar places. However, exemptions are vital to mitigate the impact of a ban on ivory sales on the heritage sector.
