Historic England and the heritage sector need a detailed understanding of skills needs and skills gaps in the sector in order to ensure demands for skilled professionals are adequately met. We now have the ability to use standard statistical data sources to identify these by building on the Heritage economic impact estimates(Cebr, 2018).
This project seeks to examine skills, wages, vacancies and shortages across the sector using data from a range of official sources. Where possible, consultants should also draw on available data to examine the employment contribution by EU citizens and the potential impacts resulting from the UK leaving the European Union including wages in heritage sectors.
