Landmark Grade I listed Newcastle church to reopen after a decade

All Saints Church in Newcastle will be brought back to life after a decade of disuse.

Thanks to a grant of £135,000 from Historic England the church has been repaired. All Saints Church was designed by David Stephenson and built between 1786 and 1796. It was the parish church for Newcastle’s Quayside until its closure in 1959. It was sold to Newcastle City Council in the 1970s and used as a rehearsal space, but it has stood empty for almost a decade today. The grant will enable it to reopen in October 2019.
