Volunteers at the Leighton Buzzard Railway have taken delivery of the Heritage Railway Association’s [Alliance member] Peter Manisty Award plaque.
The Leighton Buzzard Railway had received the occasional award for ‘an outstanding contribution to preservation’. What impressed the judging panel was that the Leighton Buzzard Railway had delivered the new station at Pages Park and other projects including several locomotive restorations without the receipt of the level of grant funding and availability of general resources that are typically central to such projects.
