The Heritage Alliance is delighted to welcome MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology)as a member.

MOLA is one of the UK’s leading archaeology practices. It is an educational charity with over 40 years of experience of archaeological excavation, survey, research and publication. Their expertise covers urban and rural sites including historic buildings, places and landscapes. They provide archaeological services to clients from across the construction industry and beyond. Their 350 staff are based in London, Northampton, Birmingham and Basingstoke.

As a charitable company they aim to inspire people to be curious about the past and the present through the discovery and study of archaeological material and by generating new knowledge and making it accessible to a wide range of audiences. Their award-winning research and community engagement projects include CITiZAN (Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network), Thames Discovery Programme and Time Truck, which provide opportunities for people to participate, gain new skills and actively contribute to the creation of archaeological knowledge.

MOLA is the only archaeological organisation in the UK to be recognised by Research Councils UK with Independent Research Organisation status, reflecting the value they place on academic research being undertaken by their team of in-house experts. This research is enriched by collaboration and knowledge exchange with universities, communities and heritage institutions.
