The Northern Powerhouse Strategy was launched by the Chancellor at the 2016 Autumn Statement.
To support this the Government is undertaking a series of stakeholder engagements on the Northern Powerhouse to help it consider what more can be done to ‘unleash the North’s economic potential’. These will run alongside and complement the Industrial Strategy consultation exercise that was announced on Monday 23 January 2017.
The Government aims to collect a comprehensive evidence base of priorities for the future of the Northern Powerhouse based on the policy parameters set out in the Northern Powerhouse Strategy: (1) connectivity, (2) education and skills, (3) enterprise and innovation, and (4) trade and investment.
Responses should be submitted no later than 17 April 2017
