Salary: Grade I (£29,055 – £31,401)

Permanent on a part time basis (18.5 hours, with the potential for up to 8 additional hours per week).

An exciting permanent, part time opportunity has arisen in the Peak District National Park for a Buildings Conservation Officer.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced applicant to join our Cultural Heritage team. There are 109 conservation areas and almost 3000 listed buildings in the National Park set within some of the most beautiful landscapes of the UK.

Your work will help us to protect and enhance the buildings, structures, places and landscapes of the National Park. You will provide specialist conservation advice, support and guidance and help to deliver an effective and integrated conservation advice service.

You will have a degree or post-graduate qualification in Historic Building Conservation or other relevant discipline. You will have specialist knowledge of traditional building architecture, techniques, materials and conservation methods and a thorough knowledge and experience of conservation and planning policy, legislation and best practice guidance.

The Authority has recently received a prestigious RTPI Award for Excellence in Planning for Heritage and Culture. We are proud to receive this recognition for our dedication to our heritage, the built environment and historic landscapes in this vibrant National Park and are looking for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to our team.
