This exciting post offers the potential to shape future property support to Quakers and to make a significant contribution to the way our varied and valued properties are cared for. The postholder will undertake the second phase of a two-year project to pilot ways of supporting Quakers to manage and maintain properties more effectively and sustainably.

There are over 350 Quaker-owned ‘meeting houses’ in Britain today, ranging from fifteenth century timber-framed farm houses, through to grade I listed stone structures, to carbon-neutral, eco-buildings. Meeting houses are important places of community and worship and we want to find the right person to help Quakers look after them.

We’re looking for someone with property experience, be it through management, maintenance, construction and/or design. You’ll also be able to work closely with members of a religious community, empowering others to become more confident and independent in making good decisions about their properties.
