The National Heritage List for England hasĀ reached the milestone of 400,000 entries. Ranging from shipwrecks to historic houses, the List records the huge variety of built heritage in England and offers protection so that they can continue to be appreciated for years to come.

The entry that allowed the List to reach this momentous number is the purpose-built flagship office for the Raleigh Cycle Company in Nottingham. The building was listed as Grade II by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) on the advice of Historic England. The inter-war building was designed by renowned architect TC Howitt, for which he was awarded the RIBA bronze medal, and it was completed in 1931.
