Record number of people visited English cathedrals this summer

English cathedrals have never been so popular. This summer, they saw rises of between 70% and 100% in visitor numbers.

Cathedrals are using innovative methods to get people through their doors. For instance, Norwich Cathedral, member of AEC [Alliance Member], installed a helter skelter which even attracted international media.

Reverend Canon Andy Bryant from Norwich Cathedral noted that the helter skelter was not a ruse to attract more visitors, but rather a way to engage them.

Lichfield Cathedral, also a member of AEC, transformed their walls into an outer-space landscape to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
