The Victorian Society [Alliance member] needs your help to complete the refurbishment of their headquarters.
The building was designed in 1880 by E.J. May and forms part of the first garden suburb in the world, Bedford Park in West London. The suburb began its life due to the newly built railway providing easy access into the city within thirty minutes. The suburb was largely built for the Victorian middle-class artistic community, and W.B. Yeats lived in one of the properties for a number of years.
The Victorian Society’s headquarters possess many original features in need of sympathetic restoration. Being a charity, they rely on donations and membership to fund their campaigns and naturally this is a project particularly close to their hearts.
