Research finds some of Britain’s heritage attractions not to be child-friendly

Editor News

Research commissioned by Ecclesiastical [Alliance Sponsor] has revealed that around a third of parents never visit art galleries or stately homes and nearly a quarter say the same for theatres. The main reasons identified for this are the lack of child-friendly activities, high cost of visiting the attractions, and the perception that heritage organisations are not child friendly.

Although the majority of parents have positive experiences when visiting heritage attractions with their children, there is more that could be done to encourage family visits.

Some of the suggestions to make heritage sites more attractive to families include offering cheaper or free tickets for children, and activities or interactive displays to keep children engaged.
