Sharing Heritage with Communities – Heritage Chat Summary Now Online

Editor News

February’s Heritage Chat explored how heritage professionals can encourage communities to share their heritage with them. We tweeted about what communities want most from the heritage sector, and approaches to strengthening links between heritage organisations and community groups. The role technology can play in initiating and developing these relationships was also a prominent theme, as was the challenges volunteers face when taking on the responsibility for their community heritage. Many thanks to @Naomi_Daw for leading this chat.

You can read a summary of the chat here.

The next Heritage Chat will take place on 21 March between 1 and 2pm – follow @HeritageChat to take part. We’re always keen to hear from people who have a topic for discussion or who would like to play a part in leading one of these monthly Twitter chats. Please contact Caroline Peach, heritage2020@theheritagealliance.org.uk if you’d like to take part.
