The Civilisations Festival is an partnership between museums, galleries, libraries and the BBC to coincide with the broadcast of BBC Arts’ Civilisations series in Spring 2018. The Festival – from Friday 2nd March to Sunday 11th March – will be a showcase of ideas, events and innovative technology designed to engage a culturally curious audience.
The BBC is inviting museums, galleries and libraries to become Civilisations Festival Partners and host events as well as experiment with new technology to spark debate, broaden understanding and share ideas about what is meant by the term civilisation.
Civilisations is inspired by the famous 1969 BBC 2 programme Civilisation or in full, Civilisation: A Personal View by Kenneth Clark.
