Social Investment is repayable finance that can be used to kick-start a project, secure assets, develop services or bridge cashflow. It can complement or even replace other funding for projects, such as grants.
Social Investment has been used to save buildings such as the Grade II* listed Portland Works in Sheffield. Over £200,000 was raised by the local community through a combination of grants, community shares and a loan from the Architectural Heritage Fund to prevent the building from being converted into flats. Giving to Heritage is offering a handful of free one-to-one consultancy sessions in partnership with CAN Invest (up to one hour) to organisations that are interested in Social Investment or need support.
