Stockport has been successful in securing a Townscape Heritage Lottery Fund Stage 1 pass for its GBP 1.8m Rediscovering the Underbanks initiative. This forms part of a wider ambitious programme of investment in the town centre. In order to develop and delivery our proposals for this uniquely interesting and challenging area we wish to appoint a Townscape Heritage Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the right skill set, drive and commitment to manage the various work areas required for a Development Stage 2 submission, then if successful, to manage the Delivery Phase for the following five years. Please note that the post is permanent but has an initial fixed term period of up to 12 months. It will be made permanent subject to approval of Stage 2 HLF funding.

You will progress a number of different workstreams concurrently ranging from working with property owners on heritage repair and reinstatement works to commissioning a range of interpretation and engagement activities. You will be an excellent negotiator, have previous experience of working on conservation led regeneration and good knowledge of historic buildings.
