Culture& [Alliance member] works to open up who makes and enjoys arts and heritage and is crowdfunding support for its New Museum School project. The School builds on a previous HLF funded Skills for the Future programme which has trained nearly 90 young people from diverse backgrounds to get jobs in museums.
The New Museum School is one of three new programmes in London supported by HLF. The New Museum School’s main aim is to recruit a more diverse workforce for the heritage sector. We are working with leading national, regional and local arts and heritage organisations to offer traineeships over two years that will address the skills gaps in the sector by focusing on digital, conservation and traditional craft skills. Culture& is looking for smaller heritage organisations to partner with, particularly form the Greater London region. Register your interest here.
The traineeships will offer work-based training leading to a QCF Level 3 Diploma in cultural Heritage to 34 trainees over two years with a tax free bursary of £15K, access to a continuous professional development and to our peer-led alumni programme.
