The Architecture Centre, Bristol is seeking a talented, energetic and versatile cultural leader for the post of Director.
The Architecture Centre is one of the UK’s leading centres for promoting good design and connecting people with place. With a gallery in the heart of Bristol’s Harbourside cultural quarter, the Centre runs a lively programme of exhibitions, events, learning and outreach activities that inspire, inform and involve people with design and the built environment. The Centre is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and works closely with a wide range of organisations both locally and nationally.
Working collaboratively with a small team and active Board of Trustees, the Director provides overall strategic direction for the organisation and ensures effective management of the staff team, its operations, activities and finances. The successful applicant will have a passion for architecture and design and significant experience of managing an organisation or programmes in the arts, cultural or heritage sectors. They will have the ability to combine effective operational management with vision and leadership.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation as it enters its 21st year and prepares to launch a new website and visual identity. The new Director will consolidate recent work around vision and brand, building on two decades of success while bringing fresh ideas and perspectives.
