The Heritage Trust: Volunteer Trustee and Advisor Roles

Editor News

The Heritage Trust is a Building Preservation Trust aimed at protecting and conserving the historic environment.  We have recently taken ownership of our latest project the “Bretby Pottery Showroom” that is in South Derbyshire, an important Grade II building at risk that has been derelict for the past 20 years.

The trust is currently run by 4 volunteer trustees and we are currently looking for one additional trustee who can add value to the work of The Heritage Trust and contribute towards the rescue of our latest project. To be successful as a trustee, a passion for the historic environment is essential and we would particularly welcome people from all ages, experiences and particularly from the following backgrounds: Community engagement; Fundraising; Legal and Surveying.

Although this role is to undertaken on a voluntary basis, The Heritage Trust can offer relevant training opportunities including governance, fundraising, conservation and management skills.

The Trust is based in Derbyshire so potential trustees should be within a commutable distance and able to attend meetings (roughly every 6-8 weeks in the evening/ weekend) that are currently held in Woodville, Swadlincote. Along with the attendance of these meeting there would also be a requirement to be able to communicate by email on a regular basis.

If you would like to apply, please send a covering letter explaining why you wish to become a trustee of The Heritage Trust and a copy of your CV to admin@heritagetrust.org.uk
