The University of Oxford [Alliance member] announced yesterday that is set to receive its largest single donation “since the renaissance” from the US billionaire Stephen Schwartzman.

The landmark gift of £150million will be used to create the Scharzman Centre for the Humanities, which will be a centre for humanities research. The new centre will bring together disciplines including English, philosophy, music and history in a single hub with performing spaces and a library, alongside a new Institute for Ethics in AI to collaborate.
